We abandoned Mick. You've been told that much.

But while we expected him not to be found, he was. He was taken and transformed into someone very dangerous, Maya. Someone who wanted to hunt down and hurt the people who abandoned him.

The people who found him attempted to brainwash him: to strip away his humanity so he would be a merciless killer, one only beholden to them.

They sent Mick after us. Me, Leonard, our entire team. And he very nearly killed all of us, more than once.

If you're hoping I'm going to feel some sort of crippling guilt, I'm afraid you're out of luck. Contrary to what you believe, I was exceptionally good at my job.

Time Masters are meant to protect history, not people. So if you expect me to suddenly realize that I am not a good person, you are far, far too late for that.

So consider everything you hate about me, Maya, and multiply it. The same organization that trained me is the one that inducted Mick: the Time Masters. If he returns as Chronos he won't care about us, or you, or anyone else in this bloody dimension.

He'll have a job to do.

You do realize that those of us here from the team--not just myself, but Leonard when he returns, and Dr. Palmer--we have lived through the time when Mick was Chronos already. We know how to stop him, how to help him. But putting yourself in harm's way just to prove a point will only cause you and others to get hurt, if not worse.

You've accused me of not caring at least a half-dozen times during the course of this conversation alone--but what you're suggesting would be a far more selfish action.
